Call Ducks |
We breed Call Ducks - true bantam ornamental ducks. These beautiful small ducks are highly regarded among waterfowl fanciers and backyarders alike. They have lovely temperaments and are an ornamental, economical choice for the garden where they happily roam in search of pests. Cute and chemical free! Our Calls are hand raised and bred to a very high standard. Calls are the smallest of all domesticated ducks and come in a beautiful array of colours but we always put type before colour when choosing breeding stock. Calls in Australia are slowly improving with keen breeders working together to create a duck that looks more and more like the "toy ducks" found in the UK and the USA. Whilst Call Duck breeders in Australia are probably a few years yet away from achieving this, we are already producing enormously appealing little ducks. Please note that a Call is NOT a bantam of another breed. Calls differ greatly with their fat cheeks, short concave bills, round heads, large eyes, short legs and cobby little bodies. The second edition Australian Poultry Standard for the "Australian Call" will hopefully clarify this for all concerned when eventually released. For next seasons breeding stock please see "Pens and Colours". Much time and effort over previous years has gone into sourcing and establishing these pens with unrelated birds of very high quality. We will be offering limited fertile eggs and stock from some of these pens this coming season. For prices of stock and fertile eggs please see "Prices & FAQ". All orders for eggs will be mixed dozens gathered from individual pens excluding white. |
Wyandottes |
We breed Standard Wyandottes in Blue Laced Gold and Silver Laced. We love Wyandottes for their hardiness, their temperament and their beautiful lacing. Our standard sized Blue Laced Gold birds are very special. Nice typey birds that show variations in ground colour from dark blue through to powder blue with the gold lacing. Our Wyandottes have been bred from very high quality birds sourced from breeders who regularly exhibit. For this seasons breeding stock please see "Pens & Colours". For prices of stock and fertile eggs please see "Prices & FAQ". This web-site is up to date. If any stock or eggs are available they will be listed as such.

Orpingtons |
Not quite as well suited to our hot summers as the Wyandottes but an extremely beautiful farmyard breed. Orpingtons also produce eggs over the winter when the other hens are having a rest. Our pen will produce non-standard colours but the birds are very beautiful indeed. The pen has a mixture of pure Buff, pure Blue and Blue/Buff. This produces a somewhat laced bird displaying a very appealing combination of the two colours. These lovely, docile large birds will be offered to backyarders only as the colour is not an approved standard for breeders.

Crested Pekins, Pekins and Silkies |
Crested Pekins are active and robust little hens that make wonderful pets and we use them to help incubate our other breeds. They are often broody and are a very attractive little hen for the small backyard. In their variety of stunning colours, health and vigour, these are also a favourite with children. |
Marans |
A new breed for us. French Wheaten Marans are a lovely docile breed of chicken originating in France. The appeal mainly for us is their lovely dark almost copper coloured eggs - the darkest of all breeds. The chicks are also auto-sexing which is a real bonus. |
Geese |
Meet Thelma and Louise - our lovely Embden cross Pilgrim geese recently acquired from a friend. Thelma and Louise are on lawn mowing duty and also snake patrol. |
